Version 0.5 and the Hilstara Bug

(If you're not having problems with 0.5.1, you can ignore this post unless you really want to help hunt for bugs.)

Some people are experiencing a bug where Hilstara is considered to have joined the group accidentally. This means she'll be incorrectly added during the Academy events. But the bigger problem is that if you didn't accept the mine quest from her before triggering the bug, you're locked out of the mine permanently.

PLEASE NOTE: Only use this version if you are experiencing the mine bug! This version is actually older than 0.5.1 in the post below and you will have a slightly smoother experience playing that one.

This version should unlock the mine for anyone experiencing this bug. There shouldn't be any future consequences, either.

UPDATE: The bug is found thanks to Commodus from LoK forums! It turns out I had a testing feature to flip this switch and forgot to take it out before release. Next version this won't be a problem, but I have not yet re-compressed 0.5.1, so for anyone playing a new game: don't save after reading the signs in the Academy.

      Never came across this bug, but then I went into the mine first then found out I needed Robin to finish it. So maybe that's why. Oh and the erotic book is still in inventory.

      As long it keeps Yarra happy, I'm sure I will be able to survive. Hope that student doesn't get a complex though, she seemed sweet...just horny.

      Does the gate not respond to you at all? If so, that sounds like a bug with older versions - try updating. If not, please let me know the exact way it's blocking you and I'll look into it!

    I play TLF 0.5.1 BUGFIX
    but the gate doesn't respond, the first time it respond is something about need a mage or something(I don't remember), then I do other quest and got robin into party and completed potion quest. And then I try again into mine, but the gate doesn't respond at all

      I did the mine before I finished the potion quest, maybe that's the problem you are having. Not to mention, doing the mine before finishing off the infested house makes it easier to do.

      Ugh, this is why I hate working across so many versions. The BUGFIX version actually doesn't have several other fixes - switch to another version and the gate should respond to you. Sorry about this. >.<

      So the fixes in one version aren't translating to the BUGFIX? Is code not getting read correctly? I don't mean to be a pain but I'm still learning programming.

      The problem is organizational, not technical. I have too many copies of the game in different places or different machines. I thought I made the BUGFIX version from 0.5.1 but I must have accidentally used the 0.5.0 folder.

    Is Robin the schoolgirl that snuck out of the school? if so how do i recruit her as i dont know where to find the mage needed to open the barrier in the mines.

      Robin is Simon's daughter - she should have joined the party during the Academy night events. If she hasn't joined, visit her. If she has and the mine barrier isn't responding, move your save into the newest version of the game (NON-bugfix). Sorry, haven't gotten every version up to the newest build of the game yet.

      I currently have the newest version, 0.5.1, but I am unable to reach Robin since the guard of the academy keeps kicking me out/my party members telling me to leave when i step onto the academy tile. Did I happen to miss a trigger event somewhere to enter the academy? So far i have completed the side quest for the church and the maid, and reached the barrier in the mines.

      An event will let you into the Academy. Be sure you've discussed business with Megail, then sleep in your room at the inn.

    I've found a bug in the 5.1 Bugfix where when you enter the far right door of the academy before the event where you meet Robin's classmates, it will skip to the night event, but will display the normal background for the lecture hall, and does not display the enemies or classmates you are supposed to be rescuing.

      Noting that the bug also caused me to lose Robin as a member of the party, but I restarted from an earlier save and the bug doesn't happen unless you go into that specific room. Also, although this may not be a bug, I can't seem to find the last two ingredients for the potion that Robin asked for.

    I found a bug where the kid in the slums of the big city stops you from moving and he's not moving so he ruined my save T_T i'm just to the right of his mother and he DOESNT MOVE...

      Reload your save! The boy's position will reset and you can leave before he blocks you off.

      Yes, that's the bug I've seen before. You're saying you can't reload and sprint south before he moves? There should be a solid second or so before the boy moves right.

      That's not hypothetical, by the way, I've fixed other people's saved games this way. If you want to upload your save somewhere, I can do the same for you.

      Nope, i cant because he DOESNT move from that place, when i start the save it's there. i was speaking with his mother in that corner then saved without even doubting T_T And he was there.... T_T

    Using Yarra's Shared Fantasy ability in combat gives me an error.
    Script 'Ace Battle Engine' line 688: NoMethodError occurred.
    Undefined method 'forced_action_remove' for Switch:Module

      It's broken until 0.6.0, sadly. If you're through the mine, switch to the non-bugfix 0.5.1 and you should have a somewhat smoother experience, sorry.
